Closed-Loop Hydrocarbon Extractor

Our closed-loop hydrocarbon extraction equipment presents from the lab scale to commercial grade.

Hydrocarbon extraction usually utilizes butane, propane, and isobutane as the solvent to extract cannabinoids, which preserves temperature-sensitive terpenes from the concentrate due to the solvent’s low boiling point. Moreover, with closed-loop structure, the flammable and combustible solvent gas will not release into the atmosphere, thus safe to operate.

How Closed-Loop Hydrocarbon Extraction Works

  1. The solvent comes into bottom center of the solvent tank (with the inner cooling coil).

  2. Solvent washes the cannabis in the material column.

  3. Cannabinoids & terpenes separate from the biomass.

  4. Mixed solvent and crude oil liquid enter into CRC to make color remediation.

  5. Mixed liquid enters into a jacketed collection tank and the solvent is evaporated.

  6. The evaporated solvent comes into the sieve to capture moisture.

  7. Solvent vapors are condensed in the coiling coil with dry ice outside.

  8. Liquid solvent returns back to the solvent tank.

The Extraction Output

The output is any cannabis extract that was produced by a closed loop hydrocarbon extractor that uses butane as the primary solvent. Those concentrates encompass different specific types that vary in consistency, color, texture, and cannabinoids contents. They include badder, wax, crumble, sauce, shatter, tincture, edibles, and more. They are affected by many factors such as the strain, techniques, production process, and so forth.
